Virginia Vacation: End to Beginning
Sophie's photo shoot
Lazy afternoon at Virginia Beach
"Lord of the Flies"
We get the question a lot, how is it camping with little kids?
This camping trip was like most others expect our air mattress pump was stolen from the bathrooms while it was charging. So, the pregnant mother was a little uncomfortable but everyone else did just fine.
Fun times on the boardwalk. Matt, Sophie and Quincy are on this!
First Landing State Park Sunset over the Chesapeake.
We rode the boardwalk in style.
2nd year in a row to head down to Virginia Beach. It is always fun but always a REALLY LONG DRIVE home.
Matt had work in Richmond, VA at the beginning of the week so that is what sparked the whole trip.
I love splash parks and I miss them. California had them everywhere and Maryland falls a little short. Quincy and Sophie enjoyed cooling off at the Richmond Botanical Gardens.
We got to check out the butterfly exhibit.
We stayed at The Jefferson Hotel. My father lived here for a few months back in the late 1940s. It has some pretty cool history.
Spent the night and day with my cousin Susanne and boys Smith and Luke.
Matt dropped us off at her house in Fredericksburg and she took us to Richmond the next day. We went to a little petting zoo and the kids had a great time running around together.

Susanne's house the night we got there. The kids loved the whole slide to slippin slide idea. I unfortunately was bitten by 6o mosquitoes from my knees down. I had quite the itch for a few days.
