Bicycling the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Trail

The C & O trail is a bike path from Washington DC to Cumberland, MD (185 miles). It follows along the railroad on one side and the Potomac River on the other.

Some wild life along the way. We saw deer, a snake, woodpecker, squirrel, and plenty of turtles.

Two very excited kids ready to start the journey! We went about 12 miles of the middle section and I pulled them because my bike was already hooked to it, but it was all flat. Matt had fun taking photos of the old buildings we rode by.

That was an interesting outing. Your Father would have enjoyed walking along the railroad. Actually, when we left your place in Jan. and went South I think we drove along the river. After running a race pushing that contraption one week why not bike with it the next! Now how about a long swim and you're ready for a triathlon. MOM
