Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

We drove up to the mountains to find us a Boise National Forest Christmas Tree!  We made edible ornaments for the forest creatures to enjoy.  Peanut butter and oatmeal pine cones and strings of fruit loops were placed on a forest tree.

Now on to find our Christmas tree.  We had no trail to follow so we blazed our own.

It was slim pickin and we didn't want to hike for miles so we selected one that seemed pretty good.  When we got it home it was a little disappointing.  The trunk is so small we had to wrap it in duct tape so it wouldn't fall over.  The branches are thin so only feather weight ornaments can be displayed.  All and all it smells heavenly and kiddos don't care.

Well, it is tall. Making the ornaments was a cute idea.

This tree will be remembered though. Gotta love the many uses of duct tape.

It probably spend it's whole life being teased by the other trees, saying it would never be a Christmas tree and what do you know?! Dreams do come true.
