Back from Italy!

We started our State Farm trip off perfectly by sitting in first class. Matt was in the top 10 for his sales level. The flight was a direct flight from Baltimore to Rome and it was chartered by the company.

First stop was Sicily. We enjoyed exploring and spent plenty of time at the beach.

We got pretty thirsty because of the heat and so we followed the Italians and drank from the fountain. People on the cruise thought we were crazy but it can't be worse than the cruise water (where does that come from?)

Next stop was the country of Malta famous for the movies Gladiator and Troy. Two movies we have never seen but everybody else was impressed.

Malta is a strange little island enclosed by a wall. They speak English and drive on the wrong side of the road.

Spending time on the boat is not our favorite thing to do, but we took full advantage of the hydro pool and the warming chairs. I was able to read a great book during the trip.

Croatia, my most favorite stop. Great beaches, wonderful people, and beautiful scenery.

The next two days were a whirlwind of sight seeing. We went to Sorrento, a little resort town. It was nice but come on we have lived in California.

Pompeii was Matt's favorite place. It is a city that was covered by ash from a volcano eruption in 79AD. It was discovered 30 feet underground in the 1700s.

Once the ash and lava hit the town it was entombed in time, even the people!

Here is Florence. This city is one to see, but there are 20 tourist to every 1 resident.

We ate lots of this stuff!
Yep, me and the other million people that have taken this photo (Classic).
